When our Christian life becomes boring … Jesus rescues. When the goals of our life are those we can do without God, or we think we can do them without God, our Christian life will stagnate. But Jesus has given every follower of His a goal none of us can do without him – making disciples. We have been given the ministry (calling) of being ambassadors of Christ, ministers of reconciliation. When we live for that goal, life will never be boring.
God created you out of the abundance of His love and He desires to have a relationship with you; to adopt you as a child into his family. We then get to live out the rest of our lives as God’s children, connected to Him by the Holy Spirit.
What is the purpose of being a Christian? What is God’s design for those who follow Jesus. Different answers are given, but the New Testaments authors were consistent in their answer. God’s ultimate goal for Christians is to make them like His Son. So, if we are not allowing the Spirit to transform us into the character of Jesus, we should struggle to say we are actually following Jesus.
